Dale Usner to Present at Duke-Industry Statistics Symposium

ICH E9 (R1) at DISS 2020

Dale W. Usner, PhD, Chief Scientific Officer & Sr. Vice President, Strategic Scientific Consulting at SDC, will present “Considerations and Impact of Various Hypothetical Strategies for Handling Intercurrent Events” at the Duke-Industry Statistics Symposium (DISS) on Thursday, April 2, 2020. He is scheduled to present in the session on ICH E9 (R1)-Statistical Principles for Clinical Trials: Addendum: Estimands and Sensitivity Analysis in Clinical Trials.

Kalyani Kothapalli to Present a Poster at ARVO 2020

Simulations to Estimate Power in Correlated Binary Data

Kalyani Kothapalli, MS, Director, Biostatistics at SDC, will present a poster at the ARVO Annual Meeting in Baltimore, MD, on May 3-7, 2020. Her poster, titled "Simulations to estimate power in correlated binary data," explores outcomes from SDC's research into design-based power maximization accounting for both eyes in ophthalmic rare diseases.

Nicole Powell, MBA

Director, Business Development

Nicole Powell 2018 (long)-1

Nicole Powell, MBA, joined SDC in 2017 as Director, Business Development. With over 10 years of experience in senior and managerial Business Development roles in the CRO industry, Nicole has distinctive expertise in customizing solutions for our clients’ unique needs. 

Her favorite part of her job is building relationships with clients to help them advance their clinical programs. She also enjoys working with her colleagues who she says are top-notch. "Having the opportunity to work with our team's expertise and innovation makes selling SDC extremely exciting," she says. "The amazing people at SDC are an industry differentiator and makes our hard work more enjoyable."

Nicole enjoys the opportunity to meet with clients and represent SDC at industry events where she frequently presents on topics related to ongoing trends and best practices. In the last few years, she led a panel discussion at the Clinical Trials Innovation Program in Boston on "How Modern Technology Will Revolutionize Clinical Trial Execution," chaired the Mobile eHealth track at two Partnerships in Clinical Trials Europe conferences, and presented "The Importance of Choosing the Right Partners and Technologies to Create the Most Efficient Clinical Trials" at the International Conference on Advanced Clinical Research and Clinical Trials. 

She holds a Master of Business Administration from Baylor University’s Hankamer School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Political Science from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She lives in McLean, VA, with her husband and two boys, and spends her free time riding her Peloton exercise bike and making memories with her family.
